Welcome to That One Couple Who Walks Blog: Pre-Op Journey with Marylyn

Updated: Feb 24

Hey everyone! Maddi asked me to start writing a blog for our website, so here ya go! 😊 It's been 12 days since I started the pre-op diet. It's more than just a physical challenge; it's a mental journey too. The pre-op diet affects your body, mind, and emotions. I'll admit, I'm far from perfect and have had my snappy moments. I try my hardest to take deep breaths before I speak, but it doesn’t always work. It’s tough. I know my family understands, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling crappy about it.

Many of you have been curious about the pre-op diet, so I'll share more about that soon. Mine was supposed to be 4 weeks, but I decided to start early with my doctor’s approval. I’m even posting pictures of the pre-op info here. Currently, I'm weaning myself off caffeine. Every other day, no caffeine until March 1st, then completely zero caffeine from now on, at least for 3 months. The 2nd week of March until surgery, I won't be able to have meat or veggies, but everything else in the videos is fine.

Join me on this journey as I navigate through these challenges and share insights along the way. Let's support each other through it all! 💪
